Wesak 2010

Wesak is the most important among all the Buddhist festivals. It celebrates the Buddha's birthday. In Theravada Buddhism, Wesak is a sacred holy day which is an observation of the birth, enlightenment and death (parinirvana) of the Siddhartha Buddha. While in Mahayana Buddhism, most of the time the Mahayana celebrates the day where Buddha get his enlightenment on this full moon day.


In celebrates Wesak day where fall on 28 May 2010.  Starting today till 31st of May, I will blogs on the life history of Siddhartha Buddha, his teachings, some Jataka stories, how Malaysian celebrate Wesak day, and things to do on Wesak day. Beside that, I will also post some places where the observant of Wesak and float processions will be held.
